Gas Leak Prompts Evacuations In Midtown Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A gas leak in Midtown Sacramento has been capped after several homes had to be evacuated.
A construction tractor operating on I Street and Alhambra hit the 2-inch gas line around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Sacramento police evacuated three residences and issued a shelter-in-place order for Sutter Middle School.
Officers closed off Alhambra from I Street to J Street as a precaution.
Sutter Middle School offered voluntary early dismissal for parents who wanted to pick up their children early.
