Four Rafters Rescued After Spending Night On American River
COLFAX (CBS13) – A family is recovering after being rescued from the north fork of the American River early Wednesday morning.
Placer County Sheriff's deputies say three women and an eight-year-old went rafting yesterday near Colfax at 2:00 pm. They were supposed to return at 6:00 Tuesday evening.
A man eventually called the Placer County Sheriff's office at 3:30 Wednesday morning to report the party missing.
The Sheriff's dive team and a CHP helicopter began searching for them and found them on the shore of the river near Iowa Hill.
The rafters were picked up and flown to safety by the CHP helicopter.
No one was injured.
