Fair Oaks Explosion Soccer Equipment Stolen Before Tournament

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) — A girls' soccer team readying for a tournament in Idaho had its equipment stolen Thursday night, but community support was quick to pick them up.

The Fair Oaks Explosion were ready to practice Friday with something missing: the $1,000 worth of equipment stolen from the back of their coach's truck the night before.

Just before the practice began, Warren Smith, president of Sacramento Professional Soccer, heard about the team's plight and decided to help

"When things like this happen, the rest of us can step up and help out and maybe people see the positives more than the negatives," he said.

He's going to see to it that the girls get new equipment before their trip.
