California State Capitol West Wing evacuated after threat made at construction site

Employees were evacuated from the historic West Wing of the California State Capitol Friday after a threatening handwritten note was found at the nearby Annex construction site.

CHP said construction workers found the note written on a wall and reported it to officers. Crews and Capitol employees were then evacuated.

Officials said there were no injuries and no known indication the threat was legitimate.

CHP K-9 teams were sweeping the building Friday afternoon. Officials said the search could take about two hours because of the amount of construction equipment at the site.

Investigators will also review security video.
