Summer is coming to an end, but there is still plenty to do in Sacramento before the weather turns cold and rainy. Step back in time to when Sacramento began, celebrate cultures from around the globe, sample beer from breweries across the country and shop for beautiful arts and crafts. Each event is family friendly, so grab the kids and celebrate everything Sacramento has to offer.

Celebrate Peace on Earth at the Oneness Peace Festival. Sponsored by the Oneness Peace Project, the historic global festival celebrates the best of intercultural and spiritual oneness. The two-day event will feature multicultural food vendors, music and dance, art, a world marketplace and a peace flag ceremony. All activities will be recorded and streamed live to sister cities of Sacramento in Japan, China and Mexico. Don't forget to bring your canned or dry goods for the food drive to benefit the River City Food Bank.

If you are a fan of beer and want to help out local charities, then check out the California Brewers Festival at Discovery Park in Sacramento. Sponsored by Point West Rotary, the Brewers Festival features over 60 breweries and distributors from across the country, as well as live bands, food and cigars. Dozens of local breweries are lined up for this year's event including Pyramid Brewery, Fox Barrel Cider, River City Brewing Company and Sierra Nevada. Advanced tickets are $25 and can be purchased at restaurants and breweries throughout Sacramento. Tickets include 10 samples - additional samples can be purchased for $1 per sample.

The 5th annual World Music and Dance Festival comes to Old Sacramento this October for a day-long celebration of "cultural diversity and ethnic fusion." The event features live music, dance performances, storytelling, cooking demonstrations and delicious food from around the globe. The Global Village is an interactive experience offering hands-on learning of arts and crafts, dance clinics and musical instruments. The festival is free and open to the public. Kick off the celebration on Saturday, October 6th with "Spotlight On: Africa!" Tickets for the performance are $5 and it is located at the festival's Waterfront Stage.

This November, over 200 of America's best artists will gather for three days at the Sacramento Convention Center for the 15th annual Sacramento Arts Festival. This outstanding show brings together the very best modern craftspeople and fine artists, showcasing stoneware, paintings, glassware, wood carvings and so much more. The event also features live music by the GG Amos Band, the Kurt Ribak Jazz Quartet and jazz soloist Dirk K. Don't miss the Schools Gallery, which features artwork from students at elementary, middle and high schools throughout the Sacramento region.

The Harvest Festival Original Arts & Crafts Show makes a stop in Sacramento this November. Over 24,000 handmade crafts in hundreds of booths will take over Cal Expo with talented artisans showcasing good like jewelry, clothing, photography, specialty food and original art. The event features Kidzones where little ones can create one-of-a-kind crafts to take home. The event also includes live entertainment and delicious food. Visitors can get a hand stamp to return without paying again.
