Best Corn Mazes Near Sacramento

Do you like puzzles? Do you love the challenge of a maze? Do you enjoy searching for the corner that lets you move forward in the maze, as opposed to the turn that stops you dead in your tracks? The California corn mazes are giant puzzles that you can walk through. Going through a tall, lush green maze of corn is old-fashioned family fun. Below you will find a number of places in and near Sacramento to trek through a California corn maze.

Dave's Haunted Corn Maze is said to be a field of screams. Opening on October 5, 2013, the haunted maze can be visited every Friday and Saturday night, and all of Halloween week, from dusk to midnight. Vierra Farms also offers a regular corn maze if haunted corn mazes are not your cup of tea. Enjoy this fall holiday experience and come on out for some festive fun.

Bishop's corn maze opens September 21 and runs through the end of October, opening at 9 a.m. every day. This year, the maze is being designed around The Child Abuse Prevention Center of Sacramento. Part of this year's proceeds will go to this worthy cause. To find Bishop's, follow highway 70 north. It is approximately 45 minutes from downtown Sacramento.

The pumpkin patch and corn maze at Amador Flower Farm is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there is no admission fee. Weather permitting, you can visit the farm animals and take a free tram ride tour every weekend in October. The farm also has themed daylily gardens to visit with over 200 unusual perennials and grasses to be seen. Bring the children and a camera.

This farm claims to have the largest corn maze at 53 acres, and it has been called the "Coolest Maze on the Planet." The corn maze opened to the public on September 15 and will run through the beginning of November. This farm is featuring a new "Kid Zone." For $5, each child can enjoy a corn bath, a straw mountain and a kiddie straw maze. The 16th annual Pumpkin Maze will open October 5 and run through October 31. The doors open at 10 a.m. and the last entry in the gate is allowed at 8 p.m. This year's maze design has a wagon filled with pumpkins, a couple of silos, a moon, a star and a bat as elements of the design.
