90s To Return Following Short Rain Interruption

More cloud cover entered Northern California ahead of the rain-making storm system moving in.

All the cloud cover helped keep temperatures in the 70s for Sacramento Sunday. Some light drizzles were felt around the area, but the bulk of the rain will hit early Monday morning.

Expect a wet commute for most of the area, with a break from the rain in the afternoon. Monday evening will remain mostly dry, with the foothills staying wet. Temperatures will barely hit 70 degrees for most locations in the valley.

Tuesday will bring another round for showers in the morning, but things will start to thin out in the valley by the afternoon.

Wednesday holds a chance for showers, but mainly in the mountains. Valley rain could total one inch and Sierra locations could possibly pick up 1 to 4 inches of rain.

After the cool temperatures and rain, the heat will be making a comeback. By the middle of the week, highs in Sacramento will climb back into the 90s.
