For those aspiring to be a part of the arts, the Sacramento Film Festival is an organization in which to get more involved. They appreciate the extreme artistic talents that go into quality cinema. The festival offers many opportunities for participation. Whether submitting a film or attending workshops, everyone can find a way to join in the fun. Those interested in contributing their talent should consider Cine Visionaries. Cine Visionaries are short films about a real subject that express how film can play a role in changing mankind for the better. Submissions for the 2012 Cine Visionaries opened March 1. The festival also challenges filmmakers to make a film in 48 hours. The deadline to be part of this endeavor was February, but those wanting to be part of a team can still register. There is also an opportunity to showcase talent by making a promo for the 2012 Sacramento Film Festival.

SFF's sister organization, California Film Foundation (CFF), provides opportunities for like-minded movie maniacs to learn everything there is to know about film. This education comes in the form of monthly meetings and avid online social networking. Membership to the foundation is free so sign up and take advantage of this opportunity to learn everything cinema.

The SFF hosts a slew of events throughout the year. Some of the more notable include the award-winning films and events presented in CineSoul, the Sacramento Black Film Festival and Cine Latino featuring the best of Latin films.
