1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Overnight Citrus Heights Shooting

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police are investigating a double shooting in Citrus Heights overnight that left one man dead and a woman hospitalized.

The shooting took place at a home in the 5900 block of Merlindale Drive south of Greenback Lane and wet of Sunrise Boulevard.

The male vicitm was found deceased in the master bedroom of the home with a gunshot wound to the face. The woman, who may be pregnant, was shot in the lower body possibly the leg.

Police are attempting to determine who is responsible for the shooting. But they say the neighborhood is safe.

CBS13 has learned detectives are bringing a gunshot residue to kit to the hospital. Police say two other people were in the home at the time of the shooting and may have witnessed it.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the victim is a known skinhead.
