In 2013, more than 3,000 people were killed in car crashes involving distracted driving.

The purple car partnership between UPMC Health Plan and Uber is a safe alternative to distracted driving.

From now until November 15, UPMC Health Plan branded vehicles will be getting Uber users where they need to go safely and without distraction.
UPMC Health Plan will cover rides up to $25, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day. The offer is limited to 450 free rides per day.

Follow these steps to get where you're going safely with UPMC Health Plan and Uber:

• Download the Uber app
• Click on the promotions section
• Enter promo code 'upmchealthplan' from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until November 15th
• Move the slider to select the purple car option
• Get where you need to go
