Steelers 7th Round Pick Talks Incredible Life Journey

PITTSBURGH (Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN) -- New Steelers Running Back Baron Batch joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to share his stunning life story which has ended up with him being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Batch said when it got late in the draft and he had yet to be selected, he got to the conclusion that if he got called by a team he'd be thrilled, but at the same time, was thinking he would sign as a free agent after the draft and get his career started that way.

On top of being drafted into the NFL, Baron had already achieved a number of things off the field including making a trip to Haiti in which he helped raise money for the disaster victims there.

Baron also writes for his local paper and had an interesting story about a man who read one of his articles and credited him with saving his life.

We wrapped things up with Baron as he told us about a number of obstacles he had to get through in his life to get him to this point, and he talked about those challenges and how they have helped shape him into the person he is today.
