MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A thunderous crowd of at least 5,000 supporters greeted President Trump inside an aircraft hangar near Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday night.

"You know what? Do me a favor. Get out on Tuesday, vote for Rick Saccone and we can leave right now," Trump said before jokingly walking away from the podium.

The president lost little time embracing his favorite candidate for Congress in next Tuesday's special election.

"Go out, vote for Rick. He'll never, ever disappoint you. He's a winner," Trump said. "He's never gonna disappoint you. Just go out. Vote with your hearts. Vote with your brains. This is an extraordinary man."

The president warned voters that Democrat Conor Lamb was not what he seemed.

"I mean, Nancy Pelosi, you can't have that. And Conor Lamb, Lamb the Sham, right? Lamb the Sham. He's trying to act like a Republican, so he gets—He won't give me one vote," Trump said. "Look, I don't know him. He looks like a nice guy. I hear he's nice looking. I think I'm better looking than him. I do. I do. I do, and he's slightly younger than me. Slightly. No, I heard that, then I saw—he's OK. He's alright. Personally, I like Rick Saccone. I think he's handsome."

He made it clear that a vote for Saccone would continue the Trump-Republican agenda in Congress.

"I came tonight because this guy is special, and beyond the vote, it's very important. Remember this. The other opponent, his opponent, is not voting for us. He can say all he wants. There's no way he's voting for us ever. Ever. And he can be nice to me, and he is, but there's no way he's ever voting for me," Trump said. "Rick is gonna vote for us all the time."

Although the president used humor to describe the Democrat as "Lamb the Sham," echoing Republican complaints that Lamb tries to appear to be all things to all people, the president heaped praise on Saccone, essentially saying he needed Saccone in order to carry out his agenda in Congress.
