PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- KDKA's Chris Moore talked with "Smoke Signals" author Martin A. Lee on why marijuana affects so many aspects of American life.
"Smoke Signals" is stirring controversy as marijuana legislation measures are on the ballot in several states and the medical marijuana community undergoes federal pressure.
Lee explained the history of the plant and also under-reported scientific breakthroughs that help restore the "prohibited truth."
"The big, untold story is that there have been more than 1,000,000 documented medical users and no deaths and no pattern of health problems attributable to medical marijuana," Lee said.
According to Lee's website, he is the author of several books, including "Acid Dreams," his acclaimed social history of LSD.
He is also the co-founder of FAIR, the national media watch group, and director of Project CBD, an information service that reports on cannabis science and therapeutics.
Listen to Chris Moore every Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
