Take a look behind the scenes at The Early Show's "Summer In The City" concert series featuring Kelly Rowland at the AT&T Plaza on Victory Boulevard, in Dallas, Texas. Music producer Kathy Black, right, goes over Kelly's performance a few hours before the show with a stack of her CDs.
One of my favorite people, Kathy Black, who produces all the concerts and does an amazing job. This is a couple of hours before the show, and it's still dark out.
Before the show I always run though our locations for the segments with director Mike Mancini. He's one of the best directors in the business.
Here is a shot of the crowd at the AT&T Plaza on Victory Boulevard in downtown Dallas waiting for Ms. Kelly to take the stage.
It is so much fun to be onstage hosting the concert! Here I am, scripts in hand, about to introduce Kelly.
Pausing for a second to gaze at the crowd and the scene at the AT&T Plaza on Victory Boulevard, in Dallas, Texas. You get a sense of why musicians are so addicted to life on the stage, the energy is amazing!
Here I am introducing Kelly Rowlands as she waits to perform. In the foreground you can see stage manager Tony Mirante giving me cues.
One of the great things about being on the road is seeing old friends. In Dallas, I was reunited with Rose Miller, my college roommate from Notre Dame, who I miss so much. Her husband Mike took many of the pictures you see here.
After the show, getting a poster signed by Kelly for my girls. She was really sweet with all the fans.
Here is Kelly signing a poster. She is cracking up because my daughter asked if her eyelashes were real! My daughter told her she applied the fake eyelashes very well.
