Former Penn State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, 68, arrives for sentencing at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte, Pa., on Oct. 9, 2012. Sansdusky was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison after having been convicted of 45 counts of sex abuse on on June 22, 2012. The accusations of abuse, revealed in November 2011, sent shock waves through the college campus known as Happy Valley and led to the firing of Penn State's beloved Hall of Fame coach, Joe Paterno. On Oct. 21, 2012, Sandusky was sent to Greene State Prison to serve his sentence. Prison officials said he will be housed in protective custody.

Sandusky was arrested Saturday on charges that he preyed on boys he met through The Second Mile, a charity he founded for at-risk youths. The charity said in a statement Sunday that Sandusky has had no involvement with The Second Mile programs involving children since 2008. That is the time when Sandusky told the foundation that he was being investigated on child-sex allegations.
