Dolores, 52, was diagnosed with colon cancer at 41. She is a massage therapist. Dolores is married with two grown children, ages 21 and 25. More than 150,000 Americans will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year.
Mortimer Brown
Mortimer, 83, was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 75. He is a grandfather and has been married for over 60 years. The risk of colorectal cancer increases with age. More than 90 percent of cases are diagnosed in people 50 and over, but 13,000 Americans under the age of 50 are also diagnosed each year.
Harriett Gelb
Harriett, 84, is a 10-year survivor of colon cancer. She has two daughters and three grandchildren.
Fred Fuller
Fred, a 5-year colon cancer survivor, is also a musician in a symphony orchestra. Fred is 60 years old and is the father of two children.
Judith Calhoun
Judith, a registered nurse, nurse educator and 25-year volunteer with the American Cancer Society, was diagnosed with colon cancer after her first colonoscopy at age 60. As a volunteer for the Society, she encourages people not to wait to get screened.
Justin Feldman
Justin is a former member of the litigation group at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, where he is retired of counsel and still resident in the New York Office. He was diagnosed with colon cancer over 30 years ago, when he was in his early 50s. Now 87, Justin has three children and two grandchildren.
Molly McMaster
Molly, 31, is president and co-founder of the Colon Club, and a tireless advocate for colon cancer awareness. She was diagnosed with colon cancer on her 23rd birthday. Molly had her first child, a baby boy, in 2006.
Bill Perkins
Bill, 57, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002. Bill is a New York State Senator.
Susan Weintraub
Susan, 58, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999. She is a retired art teacher and mother of two adult children. Susan's self-portrait, pictured here with the artist, won second place in a contest conducted last year by Gilda's Club Worldwide called "Snapshot of Survival."

Dave says that when he was 44 years old, he saw a news report by Katie Couric on colon cancer symptoms and realized that he was experiencing some of them. He went to his doctor saying he thought he had colon cancer and was indeed diagnosed.

Erika, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002, is a professional networking trainer and executive coach. Erika says that swimming regularly keeps her healthy and feeling great. She is 63 years old.
Leonard Hein
Leonard, 60, is a banker in Pasadena, Texas. He was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 57.
Barbara Joyce
Barbara, 72, was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 68. She is a retired computer-programmer and the mother of two grown children.
Carmen Marc Valvo
Carmen, a celebrated New York fashion designer, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2004. He is now 53 years old. He was unaware of his family's history of colon cancer; he had a cousin who passed away from the disease in her 30s.
Nancy Taylor
Nancy, 64, works as a travel agent. She was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 57.
John Dermengian
John, whose mother had had colon cancer a few years earlier, was diagnosed at age 45. After recovering from surgery, John competed in this year's Ironman Triathlon World Championship -- the world's most famous endurance event.
Ruth Rosenberg
Ruth works as an executive assistant and is a 7-year survivor of colon cancer. She is 57 years old.
Daniel Foster
Daniel, 57, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1996. He lives in Brooklyn and is active in the Colon Cancer Alliance.

Jessica was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2005. She works as a national sales coordinator in radio advertising and is 29-years-old.
Randy Lopez
Randy, 43, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at age 34. He is vice president of a marketing firm in California, where he lives with his wife and two daughters. Randy uses humor to bring awareness to this disease and to help others by sharing his experience.
