Behind The Scenes: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys greets the crowd Nov. 14, 2007, looking absolutely beautiful. The Grammy Award-winning singer had great chemistry with her fans while taping a concert segment that aired on The Early Show on Nov. 20.

Alicia sings her monster hit "No One," on The Early Show plaza. She admits the song is sort of a personal anthem. I love it. It's powerful and catchy.

Alicia loves children and here she is singing to some of the little ones who were standing right by the stage. The singer does a lot of charitable work on behalf of The World's Children.

It's the first time that I had ever interviewed Alicia and I found her to be very introspective and smart. She is a really impressive young woman on a lot of levels. In just six years, she's sold more than 20 million albums and racked up nine Grammy awards!

As Alicia waits for her cue on stage, I'm getting ready to introduce Alicia's second song, her 2001 hit "Fallin." She's an incredibly talented musician who's also a natural performer and kept up a steady banter with her fans in between songs.

On TV, Alicia's backup singers wore sleek black dresses. Behind-the-scenes, they pulled on coats and jeans to stay warm between takes!

Alicia is in total command...she is super professional and has one of the most beautiful voices around!

Giving Alicia a big thank you hug after her performance. It was one of our most impressive concerts of the year and a real joy to get to know her a little bit. She's a special talent and a remarkable person as well.
