Aspen, Colo., is quickly closing the gap on Beverly Hills, with 16 home sales over $10 million in 2012.

Bel Air is the third entry on the list for the state of California, recording 10 home sales over $10 million in 2012.

Sunny Miami Beach tops the list for the state of Florida, coming in fifth overall in the U.S. with eight luxury digs over $10 million sold in 2012.
