Nutter Has Eagles On The Mind
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you spent much of Monday thinking about the Eagle's latest Miracle in the Meadlowlands, you weren't alone. Mayor Nutter clearly had Sunday's win on his mind as he went about his duties.
Mayor Nutter could not resist talking Eagles at each of the two public events he held Monday in the Mayor's Reception Room at City Hall.
First in the morning, he released a report on the economic impact of the city's creative sector -- nothing at all to do with football, but still, he said, "Between Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin and the entire Eagles team, that was poetry in motion."
Then in the afternoon Philanthropist Gerry Lenfest presented a $750-thousand check to the mayor's office of education, and Nutter thanked the billionaire.
Nutter said, "Much like DeSean Jackson, you are an impact player here in the city of Philadelphia. So you are the DeSean Jackson of philanthropy here in the city."
Nutter also threw in some Cliff Lee references at each event for good measure.
