Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband appointed temporary conservator

(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband of 25 years will serve as her temporary conservator under a court-ordered agreement reached between him and the ailing actress' daughter.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz appointed Frederic von Anhalt, 69, as conservator during a brief hearing Wednesday. The appointment will remain in effect until the next court hearing in January.

Attorney Kenneth Kossoff says his client Francesca Hilton will be receiving monthly statements on her mother's finances and spending will be controlled through a special account. He says a settlement agreement also calls for Hilton to be able to visit Gabor weekly.

The 64-year-old Hilton, whose father was Conrad Hilton, is Gabor's only child. She sought a conservatorship in March, citing concerns about von Anhalt's care and financial management.

Gabor, 95, has been bedridden since she broke her hip in 2010. In 29011, her right leg was amputated because of an infection.

Kossoff says he is cautiously optimistic the arrangement will work.
