Zombie role-playing game sparked N.C. campus security alert
(CBS/AP) RALEIGH, N.C. - The cause of a security alert at North Carolina State University campus turns out to have been a live-action, role-playing game involving zombies.
The university issued a statement Friday saying there were two reports of men with handguns on campus Wednesday. These reports, it turns out, were describing a person playing a game called "Humans Vs. Zombies."
The statement says both reports described the same person, who contacted police after hearing the descriptions and locations of the sightings. The university did not release the person's name.
The campus never locked down and classes weren't cancelled, but police issued the alert while they investigated the sightings.
A website promoting the game describes Humans Vs. Zombies like a game of tag, in which some players are humans and some are zombies.
