Young Dancers Audition for "Thriller" Role

Friday is open call day in London for "Thriller," the musical celebrating, of course, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and CBS News correspondent Sheila MacVicar reports that hundreds of young hopefuls waited to strut their stuff.

For some it's been a long night, with hopefuls rising at the crack of dawn to come down and impress the show's producers - some of them in full Jackson reglia.

"I've been following him for all my life.. it's magical, his moves, his aura, he is one of the greatest entertainers in the world," said one eager dancer, who said he just wanted to somehow "be connected to him."

Director Gary Lloyd is looking for 20 special dancers.

"They've got to be a strong technical dancer, break dancing, moonwalking is essential and they have to have an understanding of Michael Jackson and the catalogue of his moves," explained Lloyd.

Complete coverage of Jackson's life and death

With Michael Jackson's death the focus is shifting now to his work... and his influence.

"I think there is a real passion to celebrate him now… This is a chance to celebrate him and his life," said Lloyd.

For 20 lucky dancers, it's also a chance to tour the world in celebration of an idol.

Auditions were to continue all Friday, and "Thriller" is scheduled to hit the road this November.
