Yolanda Foster and David Foster split

It's over for "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Yolanda Foster and Grammy-winning musician David Foster.

After four years of marriage, the couple is now announcing their split.

"Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways," the couple tells ET in a joint statement. "We've shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues."

"We are grateful for the years we've spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best. We hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we've learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another," the statement concluded.

Last month, David praised his wife for her courage amid a highly publicized battle with Lyme disease.

"It's no secret that Yolanda's been sort of through the ringer the last four years," he told ET at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala in New York City. "Yolanda has brought a lot of awareness to the disease and here we are tonight."

"She's going to beat the disease," David, 65, continued. "And when we see nights like this, it really gives us hope that we're going to nail it."

Just weeks after the gala, Yolanda shared a sentimental snap of she and her husband kissing by the pool of the Malibu mansion that they were selling.

"Beautiful ending to a beautiful chapter in our live," she captioned the photo. "Colorful memories of Love, Life and Family will live within our hearts forever.

Yolanda was married once before to Mohamed Hadid, with whom she shares three children: Gigi, 20, Bella, 19, and Anwar, 16. David has been married four times and has five daughters.
