(CBS) - A Chicago woman is reportedly suing her ex-fiance for $62,814 after he allegedly ruined their wedding plans by cheating on her during his Las Vegas bachelor party.

The lawsuit was filed at the Cook County Circuit Court by Lauren Serafin, who claims Robert Leighton failed to reimburse her the thousands of dollars she spent for the wedding and honeymoon that weren't.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Serafin and Leighton, who both work as attorneys, planned to marry on Aug. 21, 2010. But according to the lawsuit, the plans fell through in July after the wife-to-be discovered several text messages on his phone alluding to the Las Vegas "hook up" with a woman named Danielle who Leighton met there about a month before the planned nuptials.

The lawsuit alleges "breach of the promise to marry and intentional infliction of emotional distress."

According to the newspaper, Serafin claims she made nonrefundable purchases including, but not not limited to, a wedding dress and a band, booked a hotel for a bachelorette party, booked a wedding shower at a restaurant and made nonrefundable reservations for airfare and a hotel for the honeymoon in Bora Bora.

"Defendant, seemingly believing that 'what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,' denied that anything happened between himself and Danielle in Las Vegas," the lawsuit claims.
