Who Won the Biden/Cheney Sunday Showdown?

The only thing they agreed on is how wrong the other one when it comes leading the country. Vice President Joe Biden and Former Vice President Dick Cheney squared off in separate interviews, primarily clashing on national security and the war of terror.

When the dust settled, it was unclear who came out on top. Call it a draw, because questions still loom large for the Obama administration and their national security policies, and if Cheney's latest attempt to find vindication from the public worked.

On Monday's "Washington Unplugged," Politico White House reporter Carol E. Lee told CBS News senior White House correspondent Bill Plante, "What you've seen is Vice President Cheney for the past year, being the loudest critic, he gets the most attention. He really gets under their skin."

Lee added, "Once they got word that Cheney was going to appear on ABC, they decided that they were going to get Biden back-to-back, both preemptively and then afterwards."

Council on Foreign Relation's John Bellinger III told Plante, "In the aftermath of 9/11 it was the Democrats that were attacking the Bush administration for not having done enough to prevent 9/11."

Bellinger, who was also a former State Department Legal Adviser in the Bush administration and served in the Justice Department during the Clinton administration added, "A lot of the 9/11 Commission was really putting the Bush administration on trial, which I would have to say was to a certain extent I think what led to some of the excesses. It's a bit ironic to see the pressure that's being put on the Obama administration."
