(CBS) Now that Charlie Sheen has been officially let gofrom "Two and a Half Men," the decision on whether to continue the show looms large.

If the comedy gets another season, the search to find a replacement for his character on the hit CBS sitcom will be the talk of Hollywood.  And a few actors have already been billed as suitable replacements.

John Stamos could be a good choice to fill the roll. His "Full House" fans will appreciate having him back on TV regularly (besides his "Glee" guest spots). He was reportedly courted by CBS chief Les Moonves last week about possibly joining the network's hit series.

"They were at the bar talking, and Les asked John if he'd be interested in replacing Charlie," an insider told E! Online. "It wouldn't be to play Charlie's character, but they talked more about introducing a new character."

Jerry O'Connell's name was also thrown into the mix after the actor auditioned for Sheen's role in a Funny or Die clip.

And while Donny Osmond may be considered to be the complete opposite of Sheen, his recent "Two and a Half Men" parody on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" last week offered viewers a different and "wholesome" feel to the show.
