Who Is the Next "Bachelor?" No One is Saying
NEW YORK (CBS) Speculation is rife this morning over the identity of the next "Bachelor" on ABC's hit reality TV show, but the network isn't saying anything .
In Monday night's two-hour finale, Ali Fedotowsky accepted the marriage proposal of Roberto Martinez, a 26-year-old former baseball player from Tampa, Fla.
But the other finalist Chris Lambton, a 33-year-old landscape designer from Cape Cod, Mass., is emerging as the fan's top choice for "The Bachelor" 2011.
In an interview with People magazine, Chris Harrison, host of both "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," said three contestants on the just concluded "Bachelorette" would make excellent candidates. One was winner Roberto; the others were Chris Lambton and Kirk DeWindt, a sales consultant from Madison, Wis. Chris made it into the finale, losing out in Bora Bora to Roberto. Kirk was eliminated in the eighth rose ceremony.
"All those guys are in the running," Harrison said.
It is not unusual for ABC to use losing contestants from "The Bachelor" to field the next "Bachelorette" and vice versa.
