Who Did The Blue Dogs Bite?

The Blue Dog Coalition, a group of conservative House Democrats, just accepted five new pups into the dog pound this week, giving the nod (or the tail wag?) to Reps. Chris Carney (Pa.), Gabrielle Giffords (Ariz.), Bart Gordon (Tenn.), Nick Lampson (Texas) and Zack Space (Ohio).

That brings the number of Blue Dogs to 47, or 20 percent of the House Democratic caucus. Another three members -- Reps. Nancy Boyda (Kan.), Henry Cuellar (Texas) and Harry Mitchell (Ariz.) -- were put on "pending" status until slots open up.

But the election of those eight left a litter of aspiring pups licking their wounds. Six House Democrats applied for membership in the Coalition, completing an application and sitting for an interview, but were turned down. Who were these six that the pack rejected??
