White House Promises Goodies To States In Stimulus Package

Twenty-two of the nation's mayors came to the White House today to express their city's need for the stimulus package to senior officials.

4774879 Then, later this afternoon the White House released a list of goodies each state would receive if the American Recovery and Reinvestment plan passes through the Senate intact. The memo spans seventy-two pages, yet each state stands to receive the same general stimulus benefits.

Alabama to Wyoming, each state will see an growing job market, according to the White House.

"Across the country, this plan will help businesses create jobs and families afford their bills while laying a foundation for future economic growth in key areas like health care, clean energy, education and a 21st century infrastructure," the memo reads.

California is being promised 421,000 jobs while Delaware will see 11,300 employment opportunities, according to the White House.

The memo promises that families will be eligible for the new American Opportunity Tax Credit "to make college affordable."

It also offers "an additional $100 per month in unemployment insurance benefits" workers in each state who have been laid off. Finally, every state stands to receive "funding sufficient to modernize" public schools.

The White House's list could elicit support from constituents and members of congress, but don't be fooled by the massive seventy-two page document since each state is being promised the same four benefits.
