What's the Worst Night for Sleeping?

sleeping.jpgSunday night. In a study of 3,500 adults, conducted by hotel chain Travelodge, more than half reported restless Sunday nights, leading to sick days and otherwise unproductive Mondays. Here's an excerpt from the BBC News report on the study:

Disrupted sleep has been blamed for a lack of concentration at work, increased irritability towards bosses and even for falling asleep at the desk.

Nearly half of those questioned said they suffered from a lack of concentration which lead to mistakes. One in three became irritable with their boss and colleagues, and a fifth said they had nodded off at some point.

The best night for sleeping? Fridays, according to the study. So what happens on Sundays? People lie around, eat big meals, and otherwise disrupt their usual daily patterns. Plus, there's dread about going into work on Monday, especially if there's a big presentation or the like on the schedule.

According to a sleep expert, the best way to combat the Sunday-night slumber blues is to go to bed and wake up the same time every single day. What do you think? What's your worst night for sleep? Best night? Photo by bradleypjohnson. [via Ego Development]
