Watch: Miguel jumps, lands on fan at Billboard Music Awards

Miguel says he got "caught up in the moment" when he took a dive into the audience and accidentally landed on two fans Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards.

The R&B singer was performing "Adorn" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas when he attempted a jump-kick onstage and accidentally plopped on two fans, leaving one them a little bruised.

After his performance, Miguel and one of the fans named Khyati, who was spotted with an ice pack on her arm, spoke about the incident backstage with Billboard's editorial director Bill Werde.

"Well, I think it's kind of clear what happened," Miguel said. "But I'm very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati, we just met. Unfortunately we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we're OK." He added, "The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it, and how that might turn out. So this is one of the less favorable moments."

Miguel later tweeted: "Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay."

In February, Miguel's single, "Adorn,"scored the best R&B song honor at the Grammys.
