Washington: No Vote, But Two Statues
The District of Columbia might not have a vote in the House, but its residents will soon christen two statues honoring district residents.
The House Administration Committee announced Monday that Chairman Robert A. Brady (D-Pa.) would soon grant the District two statues in the Statuary Hall collection, a right reserved for each of the 50 states.
The committee did not release the names of the historic figures who would be honored, but this is a clear indication that Democrats will give Washington residents a better chance to secure a vote in Congress than their GOP predecessors.
