"Viva La Barracuda"

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley:

(PUEBLO, COLO.) – Even though John McCain did the town hall meeting here solo, it was the mention of Sarah Palin that garnered the biggest cheers.

"How about Sarah Palin last night?" McCain asked to loud applause from the crowd. "She did a magnificent job."

McCain even brought up a young man in the crowd wearing pro-Palin t-shirt to the stage with him.

"Look at this – 'Viva La Barracuda,'" McCain said reading the shirt, which refers to Palin's high school nickname. Nearly 50% of the population in Pueblo is Hispanic, which could be a crucial voting block within the tightly contested state of Colorado come November.

But it was clear the friendly crowd here was squarely behind the Republican ticket, and had no doubts about who won last night's debate.

"I almost felt a little sorry last night for my old friend Joe Biden," said McCain.
