VIDEO: Police ask for public's help identifying St. Louis double murder suspects

(CBS/KMOV) EAST ST. LOUIS - Police have released surveillance video of a double murder at a gas station in East St. Louis. They are now asking for the public's help identifying the three male shooters.

The incident occurred on January 28 around 12:30 a.m., reports CBS St. Louis. Police reportedly say they believe someone may be able to recognize the distinctive design on the coat of the man lagging behind the other two shooters.

"We need the public to step up to the plate and help us capture these armed and dangerous gunmen. If they killed once, the potential for them to kill again is there," said East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore, according to the Belleville News Democrat. "We want to keep the community safe, but we can't do it by ourselves. We need some help, and the citizens are the ones we need to help us."

Anyone with information can leave an anonymous tip with Illinois State Police at 618-346-3627, or with East St. Louis Police at 618-482-6767.
