VIDEO: Miami burglars struggle to break into liquor store
MIAMI, Fla. - Thieves robbed a Miami, Fla. liquor store on Tuesday, but security footage shows they almost didn't get in, reports CBS Miami.
The two burglars used a chainsaw to open a hole in the wall of Liquored Up, a store in South Beach, according to the station.
Surveillance video shows one of the thieves made it into the store unscathed, but his not-as-skinny partner in crime got stuck.
After a lot of pulling and a broken bottle, the second burglar gained entry.
The disguised duo grabbed a box of cigarettes before going to work. They took two registers with hundreds of dollars inside, reports the station.
They also reportedly stole travel-size alcohol bottles and a Gold Ace of Spades champagne bottle valued at $400.
Store owner David Buzaglo told the station the thieves likely caused 5-to-10 thousand dollars in damage.
Buzaglo said he has been in business for 17 years in South Beach and it's not his first break-in. He told CBS Miami his security alarm didn't go off this time, and he needs to figure out what happened.
