NEW YORK (CBS) Venus Williams is back in the news again, and the stories have nothing to do with her backhand or her serve.

Known for pushing the envelope fashion-wise, Williams is making headlines because of the very short top she wore this week at the Australian Open,.

The 30-year-old athlete told reporters it was an "illusion dress" and confessed that at the last minute she chose to pair it with black shorts rather go with the commando look of shorts in a nude color.

At the U.S. Open last summer, Williams wore a skimpy form-fitting outfit decorated with glittering fireworks, which Williams told an interviewer was her tribute to New York.

Williams drew whistles when she appeared on the court in Paris in May in a lacy, red-trimmed, black can-can outfit with a corset-like top and a tutu skirt that gave the illusion of being see-through.

And last year at the Australian Open, she wore an outfit with a flesh-colored bottom had everyone wondering whether she had gone commando.
