Van Dralan Dixson Update: Suspect in Dallas serial rape case apologizes for 2 assaults, says others were prostitution deals gone bad, police say
(CBS/AP) DALLAS - Van Dralan Dixson, a crime watch volunteer suspected in a series of sexual assaults in Dallas, apologized for attacking two of the women but said the others were prostitution deals gone bad for which he had no remorse, police say.
The Dallas Morning News reports that Dixson made his confession after his Sept. 10 arrest in Louisiana. The 38-year-old is charged with five counts of aggravated sexual assault and is suspected in four other attacks.
He is being held in Dallas County Jail on more than $5 million bond.
Police records show that Dixson told detectives that the rape of one woman as she walked home from work and another as she walked with her kids "affect" him.
A call to Dixson's attorney was not immediately returned Tuesday.
