Utah "love triangle" over inmate leads to stabbing

(AP) SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah - Police are seeking a suspect in a South Salt Lake stabbing they believe happened when women started fighting over the same inmate.

South Salt Lake police say a fight broke out between two groups of women about 11 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Sun River Apartments. Police say one woman pulled a knife and stabbed a 19-year-old woman in the neck before fleeing the scene.

The stabbing victim was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in fair condition.

Police tell KSL they questioned and released three women involved in the fight. They're still looking for a suspect and the weapon.

Officials described the motive as a love triangle.
