Use Campaign Monitor to Manage Your Company's Newsletter
As someone who routinely sends out newsletters to large subscriber bases, I've moved beyond the BCC-ed bulk email as a way to communicate with my customers. Instead, I use Campaign Monitor, which is well worth the $10 or so it charges me to send out an email newsletter. Here's why:
- First, I never mess up and accidentally give away my subscribers' personal information or email addresses. (That stress was one of the main reasons I moved away from email to begin with.
- Second, the site makes useful formatting suggestions to make sure that my newsletter is readable by every mail client and my links don't break.
- Third, it automatically unsubscribes folks who want out via a button on the bottom of the email.
I tend to use only plain text in my newsletters such that they end up looking like this one.
It's not the most beautiful thing in the world, but there's no html to get muddled, and it's amazing how effective the newsletter is.
