U.S. Student On Trial In Italy "Anxious"
The father of Amanda Knox, on trial in Italy for the slaying of her British roommate, says she is anxious to testify.
The 21-year-old Seattle woman is on trial in Perugia with her former Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, for the 2007 killing of Meredith Kercher. Both deny wrongdoing.
"She's hanging in there," Curt Knox said from Perugia in an interview on NBC's Today Show. "She's seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. She's getting anxious to testify and get her word in court that she's 100 percent innocent."
Knox was studying in Perugia and sharing an apartment with Kercher when the Briton was found stabbed to death in the house on Nov. 2, 2007. Knox and Sollecito went on trial in January on charges of murder and sexual violence. If convicted, they could face life in prison.
