Two teens shot dead in Southern California park, two others wounded
(CBS/KFMB) OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Two teens were killed and two seriously injured when a gunman opened fire on them in a California park in what police believe to be a gang related incident.
The shooting occurred around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday night in Libby Lake Park, near a monument for two teens killed by gang violence in 2011, CBS affiliate KFMB reports.
Police say two victims were killed, and two more were hit with multiple bullets and rushed to Palomar Medical Center. All the shooting victims are reportedly under the age of 18, and police suspect gang retaliation was a possible motive, KFMB reports.
Wednesday night, police said they were searching for four or five shooting suspects. Witnesses described seeing two males wearing dark clothing leaving the area in a gray or silver 2005 or 2006 Toyota Tacoma or Toyota Tundra extended cab-style pickup.
