(CBS/AP) PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police have arrested three people in connection with the death of a man whose dismembered body was found in the Schuylkill River on Tuesday morning.

Investigators believe robbery was the motive in the slaying of 40-year-old Frank Zarzycki. According to CBS Philly, the victim's body was found with his arms, legs and head cut off. Detectives identified him from his tattoos.

Police said Thursday that 34-year-old Keith Tolbert, 21-year-old Angel Weston and 22-year-old Stephanie Foulke have been charged in the northeast Philadelphia man's death.

Philadelphia police Capt. James Clark said the three suspects were involved in a prostitution business and that Zarzycki died on Aug. 26 when their plan to rob him in a downtown apartment turned violent.

Investigators reportedly said the victim died while resisting the robbery, Tolbert, Weston and Foulke subsequently tried to dispose the body by chopping it, putting it in a bag and throwing it into the river.

The station reports that Zarycki's torso was found Tuesday morning floating in a plastic bag and was identified by a distinctive tattoo across the upper back. Other body parts have yet to be recovered.

The three suspects have been charged with robbery and murder, according to CBS Philly.
