Two boys board Minneapolis bus with pellet guns, frighten passengers

(CBS) MINNEAPOLIS - Two boys are banned from Minneapolis city buses for one month after concerned passengers and witnesses called police saying they were armed, CBS Minnesota reported.

Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland says around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday evening the boys boarded a southbound Route 5 bus. He said it sounds like the duo had displayed replica guns to bystanders at the bus stop and passengers became concerned.

"Minneapolis police caught up with them and found that they were in possession of what are called Airsoft guns," said Siqveland. "They fire plastic pellets."

Police eventually stopped the bus, and the boys were taken to the juvenile detention center, where they were ordered to stay off the bus system for a month.
