Two arrested after Mo. man's tortured body found
SMITHVILLE, Mo. - A 20-year-old man and a juvenile male are jailed after another man's tortured body was found at a lake in Smithville, Mo., reports CBS affiliate KCTV.
The body of 58-year-old Mark Thomas, of Liberty, Mo., was found early Sunday at Smithville Lake, about 20 miles north of Kansas City.
Court documents say his body was found inside a park restroom with his ankles bound, a bag wired around his head, gasoline poured on him and one of his ring fingers partially severed.
Thomas died from a blow to the head, the station reports.
The Clay County prosecutor's office says 20-year-old Zachary Lisle is charged with murder, kidnapping, robbery and armed criminal action.
His bond was set at $1 million.
It is unclear whether the juvenile male taken into custody has been charged.
Prosecutors say Thomas was giving Lisle and the teen a ride home when they forced Thomas to go to several ATMs and withdraw money.
