TV Lieutenant Gets Married

Yaphet Kotto, of the television drama series Homicide, was married in Baltimore Sunday to a woman he met 15 years ago at an airport.

Kotto, 50, met Sinahon, a native of the Philippines, in 1983. She won the actor's heart during a chance meeting in an airport. After a lengthy long-distance courtship, she moved to the United States in May 1997.

The traditional Jewish wedding ceremony was held on the grounds of The Cloisters, a landmark Baltimore restaurant. During the service, the Baltimore Police Department's youth choir performed.

The several hundred guests included Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland, one of the people Kotto thanks for easing his bride's immigration process, and Baltimore Mayor Kurt Schmoke.
