Turn Your BlackBerry Into a GPS for $99.99
GPS heavyweight Garmin has an interesting offer for BlackBerry owners: For a one-time fee of $99.99, you get a lifetime GPS subscription. Normally you have to pay $9.99 per month, meaning that after you hit the 10-month mark, the savings start and never stop.
This offer applies to BlackBerry models with built-in GPS hardware (such as the 8310 and 8800). All you do is download Garmin's software, pay your hundred smackers, and hit the road. The software includes a whopping 6 million points of interest and access to Garmin Online, which provides traffic-avoidance routing, weather reports, local gas prices, and more.
If you do decide to turn your BlackBerry into a navigation system, I highly recommend getting a dashboard mount so the screen stays close to eye level. (Keeping the device on your lap or the passenger seat is a sure-fire way to crash your car.) I've had good luck with ProClip mounts, but there are plenty of equally effective options out there.
