Tropical Storm Fay Forces McCain to Change Plans

(LONG BEACH, CA.) - John McCain will not be attending a fundraiser in Miami due to Tropical Storm Fay, which was just over 400 miles southeast of Key West, Fla., this morning.

Reporters were told just before takeoff from Long Beach, Ca., that McCain's plane would bring them and the Arizona senator straight to Orlando, where McCain will speak at a VFW convention tomorrow.

Tropical Storm Fay has sustained 50 mph winds as of 8am ET this morning, and could later become a Category 1 hurricane.
