Track Issues and Tasks via E-mail (On Purpose)
When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. In much the same way, e-mail is a bit overloaded -- people use it not just for communication, but also as a sort of ad hoc task and status list. Rather than risk letting that get lost in your inbox, though, consider using this service designed to help you actually leverage your existing e-mails-as-tasks system in a sustainable way.
IssueBurner is a beta service that takes your e-mail to-dos and presents it in a streamlined Web view. To use it, just forward e-mail to issue@issueburner.com. The e-mail appears in a list that you can filter, edit, and update with status. You can also cc: IssueBurner when you send a task to someone else; the e-mail gets assigned to them in their own IssueBurner account.
