Track and Analyze Your Time with Chrometa

Keeping track of how your spend your time is important not only for your overall productivity, but also for your billing (if you do it by the hour).

Desktop app Chrometa keeps tabs on the applications you use, the e-mail you send, the sites you visit, and so on. It's like everything you do on your PC leaves a breadcrumb, and Chrometa picks up and organizes those crumbs for easy analysis and reporting. (Sound familiar? You might be thinking of oldie-but-goodie RescueTime.)

Here's a quick video that shows it in action:

Introduction to Chrometa from JP Ren on Vimeo.

Chrometa is currently in invitation-only beta, but Business Hacks users can get started right away by using invite code 8CGYJD. After installing the program (currently for Windows only; a Mac version is in the works), you'll have the option of setting up an account.

Doing so lets you sync your Chrometa data across multiple PCs, a huge plus for those who work at home and the office. And your data is accessible online from a browser-based dashboard, which lets you view your stats at a glance, create reports, and even set up clients for tracking billable hours.

If you have even the slightest interest in tracking your computing activities, Chrometa is definitely worth a look. It's free while in beta; I'm not sure if it'll remain so after.
