Adkins has asked that the encouragement fans have shown him be redirected to people who lost their homes to floods and tornadoes in the South.

"I have been blessed," said Adkins in a statement. "My kids are OK, my wife is OK. I have my guitar and my songs. Everything else can be replaced. Unfortunately, there are families out there who need help if they're to rebuild after these recent storms."

Donations may be made to the American Red Cross via CMT One Country by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Adkins has performances scheduled in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Wednesday and Anchorage, Alaska, on Thursday. He'll play the CMA Music Festival Saturday in Nashville.
